POSTGAME QUOTES

HEAD COACH JOHN GRUDEN

On tonight’s game:
It was probably one of our better games that we played. That just tells you how good (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton) is. As skilled as they are, they defend really well. They track, they’ve got some good players on that team. It was one of our better games. I thought (through) 60 minutes, we did a lot of good things. We were better tonight than Game 1. But anything can happen, there’s a lot of deciding factors. I just liked the way we played and it was good to get out of there with the ‘W’.

MARC JOHNSTONE

On tonight’s game:
Both teams are really good. Obviously, you’re in the Conference Finals for a reason. We’re just trying to continue to work and chip pucks deep and go after it and hope we can take care of business at home.

On winning two games on the road to open the series:
You want to win every game that you can but I don’t think it changes our mindset at all. We have to approach a series as either 0-0 or down in the series. We’ve just got to stay hungry and continue to play our game.

On the team’s resiliency:
We have great leadership. It starts from Logan Shaw and it goes all the way down to the youngest guy, I think it’s (Danford). Every guy here has been a leader at some point. So just looking up at the older guys, they’re leading the way on and off the ice. So you have to give credit to Shawzy, Mermis, all the older guys and just what they bring to the team.
