The Toronto Maple Leafs (31-16-8) face off against the Vegas Golden Knights (32-18-6).
The Maple Leafs will get a boost in their lineup tonight as Morgan Rielly returns from his five-game suspension. Toronto went 5-0 in his absence. They will look for a sixth straight win.
Auston Matthews enters the game with 51 goals on the season. He became the fastest player U.S.-born player to reach 50 goals in a season in last night’s 6-3 win over the Arizona Coyotes.
William Nylander is on a five-game goal streak. He is now at 31 goals on the season with 43 assists for 74 points.
Mitch Marner is quietly on an eight-game point streak. In 54 games played this season, Marner has 68 points.
Another player on a goal streak is Bobby McMann. The 27-year-old scored against Arizona, getting his goal streak to three games. In 31 games this season, McMann has 16 points.
The Vegas Golden Knights will be playing with a depleted lineup as they will be without forwards Jack Eichel and Mark Stone. Both players were put on LTIR this week.
This matchup will be the first of the season. Vegas won both meetings last year. These teams will play again next Tuesday at Scotiabank Arena.
Adin Hill will be in the net for Vegas. Hill is 14-5-2 on the season with a 2.15 GAA and a.929 save percentage.
In net for the Maple Leafs will be Martin Jones. His last start came Saturday night in Toronto’s 9-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks.
