Raptors drop fourth straight despite Dick’s career high

The Toronto Raptors now drop to 1-5 following a 131-125 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers Friday night at the Scotiabank Arena.

For the Lakers, it was their duo of Anthony Davis and Lebron James who led the way. The former is having a great start to the season, and tonight was no different as he filled the stat sheet with 38 points, 12 rebounds, three steals, and two blocks. James contributed by adding a double-double performance with 27 points and 10 assists. The two guards of Austin Reaves and D’Angelo Russell combined for 39 points for the Lakers in the win.

There were two standouts for the Raptors, as they continue to be without their All-Star Scottie Barnes. Second-year player Gradey Dick had a career high of 31 points, and guard RJ Barrett had a team high of 33 points. Jokob Poeltl also continued his good start to the season, the center scoring 19 points and collecting 12 boards in the loss.

The Raptors look to rebound tomorrow night as they host the 3-2 Sacramento Kings in what will be Vine Carter’s jersey retirement night.
