The Toronto Blue Jays continued their strong play in Boston on Wednesday night, defeating the Boston Red Sox 3-0 at Fenway Park.

With scheduled starter Max Scherzer placed on the injured list before the game because of back spasms, the Blue Jays turned to a bullpen game. Seven Toronto pitchers combined for a dominant shutout, holding Boston scoreless despite allowing seven hits and seven walks.

The Blue Jays opened the scoring in the third inning and never looked back. Andrés Giménez led the offense, collecting two hits, scoring twice, driving in a run, and stealing three bases. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. added two hits and two RBIs as Toronto finished with eight hits and five stolen bases.

Braydon Fisher started the game before turning it over to the bullpen. Simeon Woods Richardson earned the victory with three scoreless innings of relief, while Louis Varland recorded a perfect ninth inning for his 14th save of the season.

Boston threatened several times but could not capitalize, stranding 13 runners and going 0-for-12 with runners in scoring position. Strong defensive plays and timely pitching helped Toronto preserve the shutout.

The victory gave the Blue Jays their second win in the three-game series and continued their recent success against American League East rivals.
