Blue Jays Home run Report 2026

The Toronto Blue Jays were unable to build on Monday’s victory, falling 3-0 to the New York Mets at Rogers Centre on Tuesday night. Toronto’s offense was held in check throughout the game, managing just six hits and failing to score against a strong Mets pitching staff.

Kevin Gausman delivered an excellent start despite taking the loss. The veteran right-hander pitched six innings, allowing just one run while striking out seven, keeping the Blue Jays within striking distance for most of the night.

However, the Toronto lineup could not provide any run support.

The Mets opened the scoring with a solo home run by Francisco Alvarez before Luis Torrens added another solo shot later in the game. New York tacked on an insurance run in the ninth inning to secure the victory.

Luis Urías led the Blue Jays offensively with two hits, while Daulton Varsho collected the club’s only extra-base hit with a double. Toronto was also without Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who was scratched before first pitch because of back tightness.

The loss dropped the Blue Jays in the second game of the series as they looked to regroup for Wednesday’s finale. Despite the defeat, Gausman’s strong outing was an encouraging sign for Toronto’s pitching staff, but the offense will need to find more consistency moving forward.
