The Blue Jays completed a three-game sweep of Seattle with a dominant 7–0 shutout at Rogers Centre. Toronto finished its homestand 4–2 and won the season series against Seattle, 4–2.
Scherzer dominates
Max Scherzer delivered the game’s defining performance, throwing seven innings of one-hit, one-walk ball while striking out 10. The victory was his first since March.
His 10th strikeout also moved Scherzer past Gaylord Perry into ninth place on MLB’s all-time strikeout list, with 3,535 career strikeouts.
Alejandro Kirk: 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in the first inning.

Toronto’s pitching staff limited Seattle to one hit, while the Mariners struck out 15 times.
This was exactly the type of performance Toronto needed: dominant starting pitching, timely power and a lockdown bullpen. After dropping a series to Kansas City, the Jays responded by sweeping Seattle and closing the homestand on a high note.
