Cherilus Urinates On Passenger, Commanders Name Daniels Starter, Bezos And Celtics, Greenberg To Host Sunday NFL Countdown

FOOTBALL

Retired offensive tackle Gosder Cherilus (#17th overall pick in the 2008 NFL draft) was arrested for urinating on a passenger during a Delta Airlines flight from Boston to Dublin. Cherilus said, “I’d like to address the media reports about me that surfaced today regarding a situation that occurred onboard a flight to Ireland this past weekend. The flight was unexpectedly delayed for approximately four hours, and it did not take off until after 12:30AM. In preparation for the unexpected overnight flight, I took a sleeping medication that I don’t normally use, which resulted in behavior that is not representative of my character, and I would like to apologize to the passengers and flight crew.”

The Washington Commanders named rookie Jayden Daniels as their starting quarterback (over Marcus Mariota). Daniels won the Heisman Trophy at LSU last season and was the #2 pick in the 2024 NFL draft.

BASKETBALL

According to rumors, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos could be in the mix to buy the Boston Celtics for around $6 billion.

OTHER

ESPN named Mike Greenberg the next host of “Sunday NFL Countdown,” replacing Sam Ponder (who was fired last week).
