The New Jersey Devils have hired Sheldon Keefe as their new head coach, as Rear Admiral from Spittin’ Chiclets reported.

Darren Dreger of TSN reports that this is a four-year deal for Keefe and the Devils.

Keefe spent the last five seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs, dating back to November 2019, when he took over for Mike Babcock. In his time with the Maple Leafs, Keefe coached the Leafs to a .622-point percentage.

Keefe’s coaching record in 349 games is 212-97-40. His downfall was failing to get the Maple Leafs out of the first round of the playoffs, as he only did that once with the club in 2023, losing to the Florida Panthers in five games.

Sheldon Keefe becomes the 22nd head coach in New Jersey Devils team history.
