Game Preview: Leafs face Rangers in an Original Six Matchup

The Toronto Maple Leafs (34-17-8) get set for an Original Six matchup vs. the New York Rangers (40-17-3).

Toronto got back into the win column Thursday night, beating the Arizona Coyotes 4-2.

The Rangers and Leafs will meet this season for the third and final time. New York won the last game between the two teams 5-2.

William Nylander continues to stay hot for the Leafs and will look to extend his point streak to 10 games.

Maple Leafs Head Coach Sheldon Keefe says he expects Ilya Lyubushskin to be in the lineup.

Callie Jarnkrok will return to the Maple Leafs lineup after missing last month with a broken knuckle.

Nick Robertson will be a healthy scratch.

Timothy Liljegren is a game-time decision.

New York has been on a good run. They are 9-1-0 in their last 10 games. Artemi Panarin leads the Rangers with 35 goals and 46 assists.

Igor Shesterkin is the confirmed starter for the Rangers. Shesterkin is 26-12-1 on the season with a 2.65 GAA and a .911 save percentage. He went undefeated in February.

Ilya Samsonov will start in net for the Leafs.

The puck drop for the game will be at 7:00 p.m. on Sportsnet.
