Game Preview: Leafs visit Montreal

The Toronto Maple Leafs (36-19-8) square off against the Montreal Canadiens (24-29-10) tonight at the Bell Centre. 

Toronto and Montreal met back in October, which saw the Leafs win 6-5 in a shootout. 

The Leafs are coming off a 4-1 loss on Thursday against the Boston Bruins.

Newly acquired defenceman Joel Edmundson and forward Connor Dewar will make their Maple Leafs debuts.

With Edmundson in the lineup, Simon Benoit will be a healthy scratch.

Mitch Marner will miss tonight’s game. He is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Marner has 76 points in 62 games this season.

Toronto is 7-3-0 in their last 10 games.

Nick Suzuki leads the Montreal Canadiens with 61 points. He has 25 goals and 36 assists. 

Sam Montembeault will start in the net for the Canadiens.

The Maple Leafs will go with Ilya Samsonov in net.
