The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the team has signed Jani Hakanpaa to a one-year, $1.470 million contract.
Hankanpaa had two goals and 10 assists for 12 points in the 2023-24 season. He played in 64 games this season but didn’t play the rest of the season following a knee injury.
Hankanpaa is 6’7, 225 IBS. He will likely be on Toronto’s third pair on defence. The Kirkkonummi, Finland native, had 196 hits and 123 blocked shots.
