MLB Opening Day, Caitlin Clark Offered $5 Mill, Private Equity In NFL, ESPN Pursuing Kelce

It’s opening day for Major League Baseball!

Caitlin Clark, the Iowa phenom who is the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer and considered one of the greatest players in women’s college history, has been offered $5 million from the Big3 basketball league. As a comparison, the WNBA’s highest salary is $252,450. Rapper Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz co-founded the Big3. Ice Cube said about Caitlyn, “a generational athlete who can achieve tremendous success in the BIG3.” She will also be the first woman player in the league.

A committee of five NFL owners is discussing a model to allow private equity firms a stake in teams. If the deal is approved, the league will have a handful of minority stakes available.

ESPN is pursuing retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce for the Monday Night Football broadcast. NBC, CBS, and Amazon Prime Video are also pursuing Kelce.
