The Toronto Argonauts suffered a tough 58-36 loss to the Calgary Stampeders on Thursday night at McMahon Stadium in Week 5 of the CFL season.

Calgary quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. put together a spectacular performance, throwing for 405 yards and six touchdowns while adding another rushing touchdown. The Stampeders’ offense overwhelmed Toronto’s defense throughout the game, building a lead that the Argonauts could never overcome.

Despite the loss, Toronto’s offense showed flashes. Quarterback Chad Kelly kept the Argonauts competitive by leading several scoring drives, but the team’s defense struggled to slow Calgary’s explosive passing attack. The Stampeders consistently found big plays through the air, turning the contest into a high-scoring affair.

The defeat drops the Argonauts after what had been a strong start to the season, while Calgary gains momentum with one of its most impressive offensive performances of the year.

Toronto will look to regroup before its next game as it aims to bounce back from a difficult night on the road.
