Woll returns from injury as the Leafs host the Coyotes

The Toronto Maple Leafs (33-17-8, third in the Atlantic Division) vs. The Arizona Coyotes (22-30-5, seventh in the Central Division).

Toronto is coming off a 6-2 loss Tuesday night to the Vegas Golden Knights, which saw their seven-game winning streak end.

The Leafs and Coyotes met last Wednesday. Toronto won 6-3. It was their first win against Arizona since February 2020.

Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner’s point streaks ended on Tuesday. But William Nylander continued his point streak, now up to eight games. He leads the Leafs in points with 79.

Home ice hasn’t been the best for the Leafs this season. They are 15-11-2.

A couple of former Maple Leafs make their return to Toronto tonight, Alexander Kerfoot and Travis Dermott.

Clayton Keller will not be in the lineup tonight due to an upper-body injury. He leads the Coyotes in points with 52.

Arizona comes into tonight’s game on a 13-game losing streak.

The Leafs haven’t beaten the Arizona Coyotes at home in regulation since October 17th, 2002.

Connor Ingram is the expected starter for Arizona. He is 17-14-3 on the season.

Joseph Woll will be in the net for the Maple Leafs. It is Woll first start since December 7th after suffering a high ankle sprain. This season, Woll is 8-5-0 with a 2.80 GAA and a .916 save percentage.

The puck drop will be at 7:00 p.m. on Sportsnet Ontario.
