Monday Night Raw delivered a chaotic go-home show heading into Saturday Night’s Main Event, with Penta earning a World Heavyweight Championship opportunity against Roman Reigns and a major Bloodline-related attack setting the tone.
The Usos attacked
The show opened with Royce Keys and OTM brutally attacking Jimmy and Jey Uso in the parking lot. Jacob Fatu arrived looking for revenge, but Keys and OTM escaped. The attack immediately established the new group as a serious threat.
Raquel Rodriguez retains
Raquel Rodriguez defeated Sol Ruca to retain the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Ruca appeared close to victory, but Lyra Valkyria’s interference prevented the Sol Snatcher and allowed Rodriguez to hit the Tejada Bomb.
The result further intensified the issues between Ruca and Valkyria.
Dragon Lee earns Intercontinental Title shot
Dragon Lee defeated Ethan Page to become the No. 1 contender for Chad Gable’s Intercontinental Championship.
Page attempted to use the exposed ring post to his advantage, but Gable helped prevent the cheating. Lee capitalized with Operation Dragon to secure the victory.
Gable will now defend the championship against Lee in Mexico City.
Judgment Day wins
Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh defeated Je’Von Evans & Joe Hendry.
The original Evans-Mysterio match ended in a no-contest after Judgment Day interference. Adam Pearce restarted the contest as a tag match, with Dominik eventually pinning Hendry following a frog splash.
Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer
Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer continued their tense confrontation. Lynch explained that she helped Vaquer previously because she wanted Vaquer to defeat Liv Morgan and take the championship.
Vaquer rejected the idea that she owed Lynch anything, making it clear that she intends to remain focused on her own title ambitions.
Main Event: Penta vs. Rey Fenix
The World Heavyweight Championship No. 1 Contender Tournament concluded with an outstanding match between brothers Penta and Rey Fenix.
Penta survived the battle and defeated Fenix, earning a World Heavyweight Championship match against Roman Reigns on the September 14 edition of Raw in Mexico City. Penta sealed the victory with the Mexican Destroyer and then drove Fenix through the announce table.
Roman Reigns subsequently confronted Penta, creating a huge face-to-face confrontation to close the show.
