Jannik Sinner successfully defended his Wimbledon crown, defeating Alexander Zverev in four sets, 6-7(7), 7-6(2), 6-3, 6-4, to capture his second consecutive Wimbledon men’s singles title.
The championship match began with Zverev playing outstanding tennis, edging a tense opening-set tiebreak and putting the defending champion under pressure. Sinner answered immediately, dominating the second-set tiebreak to level the match and shift the momentum in his favor.
From there, the world No. 1 took control. Sinner broke serve late in the third set to claim it 6-3 before producing another crucial break at 4-3 in the fourth. He calmly served out the championship, showcasing his trademark consistency, powerful baseline game, and mental toughness.
For Zverev, it was another impressive Grand Slam run following his French Open triumph, but he was unable to sustain the level that earned him the opening set. Physical discomfort, including a reported knee issue, appeared to affect him as the match wore on, while Sinner elevated his game
The victory further cements Sinner’s place at the top of men’s tennis, giving him back-to-back Wimbledon titles and another Grand Slam championship. The final also reinforced what is becoming one of the sport’s premier rivalries, with Sinner once again proving too strong for an in-form Zverev.
