New Jersey regained the lead with Nico Hischier’s power-play goal. However, Toronto’s Auston Matthews tied the game 2-2 at 7:43 of the third period with a gorgeous power-play goal.
Hischier added his second power-play goal putting the Devils ahead once more. Matthews answered immediately with confidence and precision to even the score 3-3.
The game went into overtime with Nylander, fresh off the bench, received a pass from Mitch Marner and on an exciting breakaway solidified a well deserved 4-3 victory.
