Toronto is on a four-game winning streak after beating the St. Louis Blues 4-2 on Monday afternoon. The Leafs are 8-2-0 in their last 10 games.
Auston Matthews will look to get his 50th goal of the season. Matthews has seven goals in his last three games.
Matthew Knies is excited about tonight’s game in his hometown of Phoenix, Arizona. Knies says he’ll have “50 or 60” friends and family in attendance. Knies is in his first season with the Leafs, having played 52 games. He has 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points.
Another player to look out for tonight is Bobby McMann. McMann has been on a hot streak lately, picking up seven points in his last three out of four games.
The Coyotes come into tonight’s game on a streak as well. Arizona has lost 10 in a row and will look to end the slump tonight.
Former Maple Leaf Alexander Kerfoot is a player to look out for tonight on the Coyotes. In 55 games this season, Kerfoot has had eight goals and 23 assists for 31 points. Kerfoot spent four seasons with Toronto before signing with Arizona this past summer.
Toronto will look to beat the Coyotes for the first time since February 2020.
Karel Vejmelka is the starter for Arizona. He is 6-14-2 with a 3.51 GAA and a.893 save percentage. He has never lost against Toronto. He is 3-0.
Ilya Samsonov is in the net for the Maple Leafs. Samsonov started on Monday in Toronto’s 4-2 win. He has a 12-4-6 record with a 3.19 GAA and a save percentage of .882.
