Maple Leafs Grind Out Gritty 3-2 Win Over Rangers

The Toronto Maple Leafs battled to a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden, extending their winning streak to four games.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson opened the scoring just 1:47 into the game with a power-play blast, but the Rangers dominated the first period, outshooting Toronto 16-5 and tying it up with a Mika Zibanejad deflection. William Nylander put the Leafs ahead again early in the second after a video review confirmed his goal, but New York struck back with a shorthanded tally from Will Cuylle.

The turning point came in the third when Auston Matthews forced a turnover and set up Matthew Knies for the game-winner. Goaltender Anthony Stolarz stood tall with 33 saves, shutting the door on a late Rangers push.

Despite being outshot 35-17, Toronto capitalized on their chances and proved once again they can win in tough environments. With momentum on their side, the Leafs look ready to keep rolling.
