Have they cleaned up everything?
The Miami Dolphins came to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City and got flash-frozen in the 4th coldest game in NFL History on Saturday night, 26-7. While the weather was strongly in the Kansas City Chiefs favor, they also played their most complete game of the year at the best time of the year: the Playoffs.
All season, the Chiefs have battled themselves with a league-leading number of drops a negative turnover margin and way too many penalties. All season, as they lost games largely through these same mistakes Head Coach Andy Reid said “We’ve got to clean that up.” Well, they finally did in the most meaningful game of the season that has been filled with many unmeaningful games.
The Chiefs in a way played the whole season like some of the LeBron James led Lakers team, knowing they were going to win the division and just spent the whole season getting ready. Now the real season is beginning for the defending champions and we’ll see if the development of the team will payoff with a defense of the SuperBowl title.
Rashee Rice showed that the fate in him was well placed as he played like a WR1 with 130 yards receiving in a huge game outplaying Tyreek Hill in Hill’s return to Kansas City. Of course, Patrick Mahomes came up big playing in control and giving the Moment of the game with a Helmet Cracking scramble.
Now the real season is on hand for the Chiefs and we’ll see if they are the next dynasty in the NFL!
