Wrap-up of the EPL 2023-24 season and more

The end has come for the Premier League season, and it was definitely one of the tightest races in recent times. With Manchester City winning a historic 4th title in a row and being crowned EPL champions of the 2023-24 season, finishing with 91 points after a thrilling win of 3-1.

In the top four who are making it to the Champions League next season are Manchester City, Arsenal, who just missed out on winning the league due to two points, Liverpool, and Aston Villa. Aston Villa has also had an amazing season coming back to the Champions League after 41 years, last being in the competition in 1982. Tottenham Hotspur will be in the Europa League, finishing 5th with 66 points this season.

The three teams to unfortunately get relegated this season are Luton Town, Burnley, and Sheffield United. But with that news comes three teams from the Championship, and one of them are no strangers to the EPL. Leicester City finished first in the Championship with 97 points and were winners of the EPL in a fairytale season during 2015-2016, getting promoted from the Championship then. With them join Ipswich Town and Leeds United.

The next Premier League season will be one full of questions. One of the big ones is the departure of Jurgen Klopp, today being his last day managing Liverpool and in the Premier League after 9 years. Though replacements have been talked about, until the pen is put to paper, the world will need to see who Liverpool decides as their next manager. Mikel Arteta, who has had a good season and kept up the pressure on Manchester City, will have to look at how he can strengthen his highly capable team and hopefully get the team silverware next season. Two teams who are known as the ‘big 6’ in the EPL, Chelsea, who somehow managed to finish 6th spending well above many teams during transfer windows, and Manchester United, a team with a glorious history, finished 8th.

In the upcoming two months, it will be noteworthy to see which players go to which teams. Outside the EPL, superstar Mbappe is about to join Real Madrid from PSG as rumored. It’s time for all the rumors to pour in from leagues all over the world to see which superstars and which benchwarmers will be brought in or transferred out of clubs. The next Premier League season will definitely be an interesting one with many teams coming back to make a point and stand out from the rest.

Even though the Premier League has come to an end today, all soccer fans can still relish for the Manchester derby for the F.A cup final on the 25th of May and the Champions League final on the 1st of June between Dortmund vs Real Madrid. Then comes the international matches, which will have countries cheering for their own in the 2024 European Championship.
