Inter Toronto Close Out the 2026 CPL Regular Season Against Atlético Ottawa October 25 York Lions Stadium, Toronto

Inter Toronto entered their regular-season finale looking to finish the campaign on a positive note against provincial rivals Atlético Ottawa.

The match also served as a Fan Appreciation Day, giving the Nine Stripes an opportunity to thank their supporters after a challenging season.

Toronto came into the fixture following a difficult stretch that included losses to Forge FC and FC Supra du Québec.

Atlético Ottawa, meanwhile, had already secured third place in the league standings and were preparing for the playoffs.

First Half — Almagro Gives Toronto the Lead

Inter Toronto started positively, looking to finish the regular season with a performance their home supporters could celebrate.

The breakthrough arrived in the 36th minute when Ariel Almagro found the back of the net with a right-footed finish into the top corner.

Béni Badibanga supplied the assist, putting the hosts ahead 1–0.

Toronto carried that advantage into halftime, defending with discipline and looking to exploit opportunities on the counterattack.

Second Half — Altobelli Delivers, Ottawa Responds

Atlético Ottawa pushed for an equalizer after the interval, seeking to build momentum ahead of the Canadian Premier League playoffs.

Inter Toronto, however, remained dangerous going forward.

In the 90th minute, Julian Altobelli doubled Toronto’s lead with another right-footed finish into the top corner.

Ollie Bassett provided the assist, giving the home side what appeared to be a decisive two-goal cushion.

Ottawa refused to surrender. In the 90th minute of stoppage time, Nicolas Fleuriau Chateau won and converted a penalty, reducing the deficit to 2–1.

The late goal created a tense finish, but Toronto held on for the victory.
