AEW Dynamite rolled into Sugar Land, Texas on Wednesday night, delivering a show packed with major developments on the road to Forbidden Door.

The main event featured Team MJF battling Team Mark Briscoe in a chaotic 12-man tag team match. Earlier in the night, both captains revealed their teams for the upcoming steel cage showdown at Forbidden Door. MJF’s squad included Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, Kevin Knight, Andrade El Idolo, and Jake Doyle, while Briscoe’s team featured Darby Allin, Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong, and Konosuke Takeshita. After a wild contest, Team MJF picked up the victory when MJF forced Roderick Strong to submit.

The Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament semifinal saw Mercedes Moné defeat Hazuki in a hard-fought battle. Hazuki pushed Moné to the limit and even busted her open, but Moné rallied and secured the submission victory with the Statement Maker to advance to the tournament final.

Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland met face-to-face ahead of their Owen Hart Cup Final. The confrontation quickly became heated, with both men exchanging personal shots before officials intervened to prevent an all-out fight.

Elsewhere on the show, Kenny Omega defeated Tony Nese before coming face-to-face with Zack Sabre Jr., setting the stage for a future showdown.

Brody King and Bandido scored an impressive victory over Jon Moxley and Daniel Garcia. Following the match, Bandido challenged Moxley, while Brody King’s strong performance earned him a Continental Championship opportunity at Forbidden Door.

The show also featured Chris Jericho accepting Tommaso Ciampa’s challenge for a confrontation on Collision, while Adam Copeland and Christian Cage issued a challenge to The Dogs for the AEW World Tag Team Championship at Forbidden Door.

With Forbidden Door rapidly approaching, AEW delivered another eventful Dynamite that advanced several major storylines and set the stage for one of the company’s biggest events of the summer.
