The Toronto Blue Jays officially unveiled their new Hall of Excellence at Rogers Centre on August 29, 2026, as part of the franchise’s 50th-anniversary celebrations.

The new Hall replaces and expands upon the club’s former Level of Excellence, creating a dedicated space on the 100 Level, near the right-field corner, to honour the people who have made the greatest contributions to Blue Jays history.

Buck Martinez becomes the 12th inductee

Buck Martinez became the first new inductee into the Hall of Excellence and the 12th member overall. Martinez was honoured for his remarkable connection to the organization as a player, manager and longtime broadcaster. He received an emotional ovation during the ceremony and delivered a speech reflecting on his decades with the Blue Jays.

The original 11 honourees from the Level of Excellence are:

José Bautista

Paul Beeston

George Bell

Joe Carter

Tom Cheek

Carlos Delgado

Tony Fernández

Cito Gaston

Pat Gillick

Roy Halladay

Dave Stieb

With Martinez joining them, the Blue Jays now have a permanent, expanded home for celebrating the franchise’s most influential figures.

Bottom line: The Hall of Excellence gives Blue Jays fans a new destination inside Rogers Centre to celebrate the people and moments that have shaped 50 years of Toronto baseball. Buck Martinez’s induction made the opening especially fitting, honouring a man whose legacy spans generations of Blue Jays fans.
