The Professional Women’s Hockey League announced Thursday that Toronto will host the league’s first-ever PWHL All-Star event on March 7, 2027, at Scotiabank Arena.
The event will feature a four-team, 3-on-3 tournament with:
PWHL Canada
PWHL International
PWHL USA
PWHL Rookies
Each roster will consist of 10 players — six forwards, three defenders and one goaltender.
Tournament Format
The four teams will play a round-robin tournament. After the opening round, the second- and third-place teams will meet in a semifinal, with the winner advancing to face the first-place team in the championship game.
All-Star starters will be selected through a combination of fan, player and media voting, while reserve players will be chosen by the league’s hockey operations staff.
Toronto Returns to the Spotlight
Toronto is a fitting location for the league’s inaugural All-Star event. The PWHL played its first-ever regular-season game at Toronto’s Coca-Cola Coliseum on January 1, 2024.
The league says the weekend will also include fan activations and community events, with additional details to be announced.
The PWHL’s first All-Star event represents another major milestone for the league as it enters its fourth season with 12 teams.
