The Brampton Steelheads made another massive trade, acquiring Erie Otters defenceman Spencer Sova and a 2028 15th-round draft pick in exchange for three conditional draft picks: a second-round pick in 2025, a fourth-round pick in 2026, and a fourth-round pick in 2028, including a fifteenth-round pick in 2028 and the rights to prospect Coben Bryan.

The Windsor, Ontario native was drafted 8th overall in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection. Since then, Sova has played in 190 regular season games, scoring 39 goals and 59 assists for 98 points.

Sova will be a key part of the Steelheads’ defence, along with players Stevie Leskovar, Parker Von Richter, and Jakub Fibigr.
