Inter Toronto FC’s coaching situation is an important storyline as the club looks ahead to its next chapter.

A new head coach could bring a fresh tactical approach, renewed competition for starting positions, and a different identity on the pitch.

Mauro Eustáquio will not return for 2027

Inter Toronto confirmed on November 6 that Mauro Eustáquio is leaving his position as head coach after two seasons in charge.

2025: Led the club to the CPL playoffs.

2026: Finished sixth with a 7-9-12 record and missed the playoffs.

Overall: His departure marks the beginning of another coaching transition for the club.

Who could replace him?

José Guadalupe Cruz

Cruz is an intriguing candidate.

He joined Inter Toronto in August as Assistant First Team Coach and Director of Sporting Development.

He has not officially been named the new head coach.

What’s next for Inter Toronto?

The club must identify its next head coach, establish a clear playing philosophy and prepare for the 2027 Canadian Premier League season.

FiredUp Network Final Take:

Inter Toronto is entering a major rebuilding period.

The next coaching appointment could determine the direction of the club for years to come
