POSTGAME QUOTES

HEAD COACH JOHN GRUDEN

On what he liked about tonight’s game:
It’s hard not to. It starts right away by us taking advantage of a power play and then that carries on to the five-on-five game. They set the tone. All four lines were outstanding, six defencemen and the goaltender, I thought we set the tone with everyone, not just a few. We kept it going and it’s important against this group to make sure we have the right start. You don’t expect a four-nothing lead after 10 minutes but at the end of the day, we did a lot of the right things and because of that, we got rewarded.

On the defensive effort:
If one guys misses their assignment, (Laval) is a dangerous team. They scored a lot of goals this season. They’ve got some dangerous players and I think we’ve done a good job of staying out of the box, staying disciplined and defending. All of our transition is coming from our good D-zone coverage. We’ve got to continue to do that moving forward.

EASTON COWAN (1 GOAL)

On Logan Shaw’s early goal:
I think it just shows how good he is. He’s obviously a veteran and he just wants this so bad. So, we’re all just pulling for him and we’re all pulling for each other.

WILLIAM VILLENEUVE (2 ASSISTS)

On the team’s outlook heading into Game 4:
You want to win as quick as possible, and we know the hardest game is coming but we’re excited for the challenge. We went down early in Laval and came back in Game 2 and won it and today we had a great showing. We’ve been doing a lot of great things that have brought us a lot of success, we’ve just got to be dialed on Tuesday.
