The Toronto Blue Jays bounced back in impressive fashion on Tuesday night, defeating the San Francisco Giants 9-3 at Oracle Park to snap a three-game losing streak.
Toronto’s offense erupted early, scoring five runs in the third inning after taking the lead on a three-run home run by Jonatan Clase in the second. Making his first start of the season after being recalled with George Springer on paternity leave, Clase delivered the biggest hit of the night and finished with two hits, two runs scored, and three RBIs.
Sean Keys also enjoyed a strong performance, driving in two runs with a key single during the Blue Jays’ big third inning. Ernie Clement led the club with three hits, while Brandon Valenzuela added two hits and scored twice as Toronto collected 13 hits.
Rookie starter Spencer Miles gave the Blue Jays a solid outing, allowing two runs over four innings. Patrick Corbin earned the victory in relief, while the bullpen combined to keep the Giants’ offense under control the rest of the way.
San Francisco starter Trevor McDonald struggled from the outset, surrendering eight earned runs in just 2⅓ innings. Heliot Ramos and Luis Arraez each recorded two hits for the Giants, but they were unable to recover after Toronto’s early offensive explosion.
The victory improved the Blue Jays’ momentum heading into the series finale as they looked to build on one of their most complete offensive performances in recent weeks.
