The Toronto Blue Jays opened their series against the Boston Red Sox with an impressive 6-1 victory Tuesday night at Fenway Park.

Toronto received a strong performance from starter Dylan Cease, who worked five scoreless innings, allowing four hits while striking out seven batters to earn his fourth win of the season. The Blue Jays’ bullpen protected the lead the rest of the way, limiting Boston to just one run.

The Blue Jays got on the board in the third inning when George Springer delivered a sacrifice fly to score Andrés Giménez. Toronto added to its lead in the fifth inning as Davis Schneider and Giménez blasted back-to-back home runs, marking the club’s first consecutive home runs of the season. Schneider later added an RBI double in the sixth inning to make it 4-0.

Boston’s lone run came in the eighth inning on a solo home run by Jarren Duran, but the Blue Jays answered in the ninth. Springer capped the scoring with a two-run homer, the 300th home run of his Major League career, helping Toronto secure the 6-1 win.

Schneider finished with a home run, double, and two RBIs, while Giménez returned from injury and contributed a homer, two hits, and two runs scored. Springer drove in three runs and reached the 300-home run milestone.

With the victory, the Blue Jays improved their position in the American League standings and started their road trip on a positive note as they continue their series in Boston.
