The National Bank Open presented by Rogers is into the Round of 16 at Sobeys Stadium in Toronto, with the tournament’s biggest names battling for quarterfinal places.

Swiatek advances

Iga Swiatek defeated Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk 3–6, 6–1, 6–2, overcoming a slow start to book her place in the quarterfinals. Swiatek dropped the opening set but took control with increasingly aggressive baseline play.

Sabalenka stunned

One of the day’s biggest surprises was Aryna Sabalenka’s loss to Ekaterina Alexandrova. The upset shook up the women’s draw and opened the door for several players to make a deep run.

🇨🇦 Toronto spotlight

The tournament continues to generate significant Canadian interest, particularly with Victoria Mboko returning to defend her National Bank Open title. Mboko began her title defence in Toronto on August 5 after winning last year’s tournament in Montreal.
